Swamiji says…

The lure and glitter of excessive materialism that pervades the lifestyle of the present generation … attracts one and all … and you will be swayed by the desire to possess everything that you lay your eyes on. But do you ever think about what will you actually gain by trying to acquire and own everything that you fancy?

In the race to prove that you are better than the best monetarily and have ‘arrived financially’… consumed with jealousy at times at the materialistc progress made by others … in your urgency to impress others with your baubles, you might throw caution to the wind and opt for what appears to be the easiest way out by taking loans in order to fulfil your materialistic desires, without thinking about the stress and tension that the payment of that massive loan could entail. You are willing to burn down your own house in order to live a life of false ostentation and pretence. Shouldn’t your expenditure meet your income !

Wouldn’t it be better if you chose to live a simple and pure life…within your means and resources, constantly conscious of the fact that it is your pure thoughts, peace of mind and good deeds alone that will enable you to set your goals on higher values and focus on Him. You will leave every single object behind you but carry only the good name that you have earned for yourself in this lifetime … when you leave this world.

Remember he only is happy who exercises self-restraint on himself as he saves himself from unecessary suffering and misery as he has drawn a line between ‘need’ and ‘greed’ and understands clearly that he will get only what is ordained, willed and written for him, in this particular lifetime of his, by The Supreme Master.

Swamiji says …

“You need to be aware of the fact that you have another life to live once your soul ceases to live encased in the robe that it has donned in this lifetime…ie. your body. Your association with your body is so strong that you feel that you will live forever … that you have an eternal lease of life, but this assumption of yours is far from real … as you are living in a body that has been ‘rented’ to you by Him and the lease of your life is exclusively in His Hands. Is it possible for you to express your gratitude to Him by taking His name and thanking Him for every Grace and blessing as you traverse your journey of this lifetime? Repay your debt to Him in small instalments by doing good and only good … as that is what He expects from His most magnificent creation … you, a human being.

The karma that you have accumulated in your previous lifetimes determines whether you are born as a king’s offspring and enjoy the luxury of playing with golden toys … or take birth as a pauper’s child and play with clay toys…although the happiness derived by both the infants is of the same measure. What is of relevance is that irrespective of your standing in society every ‘karma’ of yours should enable you to be the King of that other beautiful world which you will inhabit after departing from this world … as He allows you to merge with Him … His reward for you, for your untiring, selfless, noteworthy ‘karma’. Aspire to be the King … the Ruler of the ‘Real’ world one day … by being humane and an exemplary human being in this ‘illusionary’ world which we take for ‘Real’ … as it the only way to reach there.

Swamiji says …

At times we come across people who are highly educated… hold degrees from the most prestigious institutions in the world, but, sadly, their behaviour with the ‘less’ educated and those who they consider ‘inferior’ to them … is anything but refined … and speaks volumes about their misplaced ethics and values.

Modesty, humility and grace are replaced by arrogance, impatience and intolerance. At times, they conduct themselves in a manner most disgraceful and deplorable.
Their inexcusable misbehaviour with others, at times, exhibits their ignorance of the right knowledge and lack of ‘true’ education. They have the gall to use foul language and behave in an inhuman manner with the less fortunate person…who on the other hand stands firmly on the foundation of his values and principles, speaks patiently to this ‘superior being’ with his hands folded in a manner more polite and refined than his.

Such educated individuals seem to forget that they are being watched by ‘Him’ all the time and it is impossible for them to escape ‘the’ moment when they will face ‘Him’ and wait for the final verdict to be delivered to them in the Almighty’s Court … Complete and absolute justice… from which there is no running away. None of his influential and illustrious contacts can come to his aid at that moment.

In what state do you see yourself on that particular day? How many people do you hurt with your razor – sharp tongue and your rude behaviour day after day? Is there any point in calling yourself educated if you behave in such a callous manner? Are you educated in the true sense of the world?

You still have time to change yourself if you have the will to do so …

Swamiji says …

Once you acquire everything that you had aspired for … name , fame , wealth and position … when you have more than you need …at times in abundance … you must remember your duties and like a Good Samaritan … return and give back to the society from which you have evolved. Doesn’t your body expel the unused, extra food matter from it? Srishti ka niyam hai yeh …

At times, the sheaths of pride and arrogance that layer your eyes intoxicate you … and blinds your vision, and your complacency stalls you from performing selfless , good ‘karma’ aimed at benefiting the society.

You conveniently place the entire onus of being navigated through the ups and downs … the highs and lows of your lifetime … on your Guru … as you completely forget that the only worthy thing that you can take along with you when you leave this world … is your ‘karma’. Everything else that you consider to be yours will be left behind.

Is your present ‘karma’ for others good enough ? Does it benefit others ? Be magnanimous , large-hearted and grateful to the society of which you are an integral part and repay in abundance in any which way.

Swamiji says –

This world in which we live during every lifetime of ours is our ‘karmabhoomi’. Everything that we see around us is nothing but ‘mithya’ … perishable and an illusion … but we mortals have complete and absolute faith in this false, illusionary world and act at times wilfully according to the different situations that life presents us with.

We must remember that we have to face the consequences and repercussions of every action made by us … good and bad … in this and our previous births. Hence , we have to be very careful and cautious … pause, think and reflect before we act.

It is when a devotee truly repents for his mistakes and seeks forgiveness for his misdeeds that a self – realized guru can come to his rescue and relieve him of his suffering during these agonizingly painful moments, by taking upon himself his devotee’s suffering and take him towards divine light as his good ‘karma’ warrants it.

We have to adhere to the simple principle that every good act of ours will enable us to walk the Right spiritual path and gain proximity to God.
