Swamiji warns us of the bottomless crevice into which we can fall, headlong, if we allow greed for materialism to consume us. Insatiable desire for money, wealth and affluence can blind u , unless and until we check ourselves.
Swamiji says – “You must remember that when animals realise that their stomachs are full, they do not hunt further but walk away from the carcass, and never hurt the other animals devouring it. Unfortunately, it is man alone who is unable to draw a line between need and greed and resist the temptation of wanting more. The glitter and sparkle of money makes him crave, pine and long for more constantly.”
You are living a life of delusion if you feel that you can please God with the abundant possessions that you have amassed in this lifetime. Remember, you need money to live a comfortable and secure life but at the same time it is also the root cause of all evil. Utilise this precious lifetime in devoting some time to God, and walk on the path of hard, honest labour.
Greed for money is an evil and it is not good for you. Learn to resist the vile bait of corruption by saying – ‘No. No more. I am content with what I have.’ You can certainly do it if you will to do so.
My blessings to each one of you.
